CABINS-THOREAU

We have been involved in many educational projects over the years with the local history museum and building trades classes with the local high school and college. One notable frame was a replica of the Henry David Thoreau cabin that now sits on the grounds of the North Country Union High School. Green Timber Works replicated the historic design and the forestry class cut and milled the timbers. The building trades students learned to cut the joinery into the timbers under our supervision. The students also got to assemble and raise the frame, which is now used as an outdoor classroom.
